How a MoMo payment works
- Supported: MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash and AT Money. Wallet top-ups in the app charge the phone number on your account. When you buy tickets on the website, you choose your network.
- You approve on your own phone. Never share your MoMo PIN with anyone, including Shaxi.
- Mobile Money adds about 1% when you approve, and Shaxi shows it before you pay. For example, a GH₵10 top-up asks you to approve about GH₵10.10.
- In the app, approve the prompt, then tap Confirm Payment. After 60 seconds the app takes you back to Wallet and Shaxi keeps checking. On the website, the page checks for 3 minutes.
The prompt didn’t come, or it timed out
- Check your MoMo SMS to see whether money actually left your account.
- If it didn’t, start again. If it did, don’t pay twice. Shaxi keeps checking, checks anything still waiting again after about an hour, and credits it once it’s confirmed.
- Still missing after an hour? Contact support with the reference on your screen (TOPUP-… for top-ups, EVTTKT-… for tickets, MKPROMO-… for boosts), the phone number you paid with, and the date and time.
Your Shaxi wallet
- Top up from GH₵1 to GH₵10,000.
- The wallet pays for rides, cancellation fees, Buy & Sell boosts and seller plans, driver minutes, Services packages, and job and property packages. Event tickets are paid by MoMo, not from the wallet.
- Wallet money can be spent on Shaxi but can’t be withdrawn to MoMo or a bank yet. Topped up by mistake and haven’t used it? Contact support.
Refunds by service
- Event tickets: not refundable if you change your mind or can’t go. If you bought while signed in, transfer the ticket instead. If Shaxi cancels an event, orders placed while signed in go back to your wallet; for guest orders, contact support.
- Seller plans and driver minutes: non-refundable except for an approved payment or Shaxi system error. Refunds go to your wallet.
- Rides: if Shaxi lowers the fare of a ride you paid from your wallet, the difference goes back to your wallet.
- Charged twice or the wrong amount? Contact support with the reference, and the team reviews it.
