Safety tips
We check listings against our selling rules, but we cannot be there when you meet. These habits keep buyers and sellers safe.
Deal safely
Before you meet or pay
- Never pay before you see the item Do not send a deposit or MoMo payment for an item you have not seen. Pay when you have it in your hands.
- Meet in a busy public place Choose a mall, a busy junction or a shop during the day, and bring someone along for expensive items.
- Check the item before paying Test it, check that it matches the photos, and make sure the item you checked is the one you take home.
- Never share PINs or codes Shaxi and real sellers never ask for your MoMo PIN, bank PIN or verification code.
- Watch for fake payment messages Sellers: confirm money in your MoMo balance, not from an SMS, before you hand over an item.
- Keep the chat on Shaxi Our team can only help with conversations that happened on Shaxi chat.
- Too good to be true? Very low prices and pressure to pay fast are common signs of a scam. Report the listing.
Buying something specific
- Phones and laptops Check that the IMEI or serial number matches the box, that the device is signed out of iCloud or Google, and that the battery and camera work.
- Vehicles Inspect the vehicle with a mechanic, take a test drive, and check the DVLA documents before you pay.
- Animals See the animal in person and ask for vaccination records.
- Expensive items Bring someone with you, and use a traceable payment once you are satisfied.
Report a problem
Use "Report this ad" on any listing to tell us about a scam, a prohibited item or a fake. A listing that several buyers report as a scam can be hidden until our team checks it. If you have already lost money, open a support ticket and report it to the police.
